Invasive Non-Native Species: Increased Biodiversity or Conservation Nightmare?
Our talk on June 10th will be from Dr. Colin Ryall, a retired ecologist from Combe St. Nicholas who specialised in river ecology and invasive birds, but has always had a broad interest in natural history. His interest in non-native species developed in 1980 working on Japanese Knotweed at Farnborough college. He’ll be talking about both British and global species including our old favourites Himalayan Balsam, Signal Crayfish and our new enemy – Killer Shrimp.
He might even mention Asian Hornets!
